Are you actually getting slower internet speeds than you're paying for? Because you might just not have bought very fast service with it :)

Usually have low HD free space left (<10 GB), often left on overnight. I really push its capabilities.
i have two laptops the same fitted with two identical internet keys from the same provider. my wife while sitting on the bed enjoys fast speeds and has no problems. I sit beside the bed at my desk and recieve very slow speeds and constant 'cant connect' messages.

she took my key and used it on hers with no problems either - me moving my laptop to the bed does nothing either.

Welcome
There can be several causes. The most common is problems with the internet provider, but you have ruled that out. The next one is a problem for several reasons, it could be an interent worm, that is using bandwith.
Run a full antivirus scan, download and run a full scan with malwarebytes. If these prove negative, try with a clean boot to see if another program is the cause of the problem.

If clean boot finds nothing, try in safe mode with networking.
I think that one of these strategies will help solve your problem.
