Two copies of Internet Explorer

Hi,
I have two versions if Microsoft internet explorer:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" - standard 9.0.8122
and
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" - 64 bit 9.0.3

I would like to uninstall the one in Program files (x86) and update to the latest version the one in Program files.
This choice is based upon the operating system that I have:
Win Vista Ultimate SP 2 64 bit OS

I don't see a way to do this in:
Control Panel > Programs and Features > Uninstall or change a program.
If there is an uninstall .exe in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer" it is not obvious to me.
I need suggestions on a way to make a clean uninstall.
Thanks
Frank C
