E-mail Malfunction

I'm getting the errror messages pictured in the screen shots below (also incliding shot of Windows Version). The e-mail sticks on "Authorizing". I am able to log on to comcast.net and get my mail that way but cannot receive on my regular e-mail. I'm using Windows Mail on Vista 32 bit. Any suggestions?

Hello Fred44,
I had issues with my comcast e-mail and had to initiate live chat and have them fix me up. They gave me the settings to put in to get mine working.
So, i am thinking this would be easiest way to resolve your issue.

Support in your area must be better than here. I talked to 3 different people and they all told me the same thing....which didn't work....Thanks....Fred

They are not my favorite ISP to use , but, they have a monopoly in my area, Check this, for the password to work, i had to leave off the last part of @comcast.net and just use the first part. Then when i got into the email, for it to authorize i had to set up in Tools, Accounts , and on that window , i had listed under Mail, mail.comcast.net, then my username for my email in full . Then highlight that, go to properties button, in the servers tab , for incoming , use this : mail.comcast.net, for outgoing : smtp.comcast.net, then your email username, check the remember password, click ok, In the advanced tab, i had to put 25 for port number outgoing, and 110 port number incoming, then press OK.. That is what they had me do. I wonder why yours did not have you do something similar ? Anyways, sorry i could not assist you. I hate comcast myself.

Is Windows Live Mail that great? I've been getting by with Thunderbird pretty well.

edit: Even there I guess I'm an "if it ain't broke don't fix it" type of guy. I don't use the multi-tabbed Thunderbird. I'm still hobbling along with 2.x. :)

That's exactly what they had me do, I believe...will go back and check. Count me as another Comcast hater!!!
