Finally gave up and just had to reinstall Vista .. (failed to boot with crsdisk.sys)

Windows mail recoverred and all mails now back ... however left with a number of empty folders in 'Imported Folder, Imported Folder(1) etc'

From where I dargged and dropped mails to correct locations.

I have double checked all are empty ... but they won't delete.

Tried repair of database using WMUtil utility ... no change.

Have you tried clicking on the very small arrows near the box. If you click on this arrow, it whould make the box invisible.

The point of those arrows is to make the folders appear and disappear. I dont understand why it does not work in your situation. Can you give me a screen shot of the folders?

only expands or rolls up the sub folders.

Now found a fix ... FYI ... in WM
Tools/Options/advanced/maintenance
tick box for "Empty items from deleted items folder on exit"

Did that, and after a restart of WM ... I could then delete folders.
