Solved use Image from HD as a Speed-dial?

Chrome Speed-dial has an option in Edit menu to use Dial Image URL. But what I'd like to do is use images from my HD. At the moment all I can figure to use my own custom made image is to upload it to my web site and paste the URL.

Seems like there should be a way to get it to load off the HD. Anyone know a trick without running a local web server?

I found I didn't need it after switching to Speed-dial 2. The default images are larger and they don't shrink because you resize the browser window. The title is inside the thumbnail area so the space between dials isn't used up by the Title. Other than that it's quite familiar.
