Solved Brower Tabs

I have always had a customised home page for IE9/Google with local info and my own selected gadets and have asked for my first page to be used whenever I open a new tab (Internet options/General/Tab settings.....). This has always worked properly until recently. Now what I get is a basic Google page with none of my content. The initial page on opening the browser is ok, it's just the new tab which is not bringing up my customised page.

Can you open your Internet Options please. Tools > Options (or something like that). Alternatively, type inetcpl.cpl in your start menu and click on the file. Take a screenshot of that window, then attach it to your next post for us please. Then click on the Settings button under the Tabs category, and take another screenshot please

That's great I just wanted to check it was set up in the right way.

You say this is a recent problem, how recent is this? What version of IE are you using?

Hi Tom: I use IE9 and have been having this issue for about a month.
As an aside, I had previously reported a possibly related problem where my customised home page was being replaced by one in which the Google map showed Claifornia and the weather map was for Chester, UK. This stopped happening about the time I started having the current problem

Try clearing out your cache using CCleaner:

CCleaner - Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download

Make sure IE is closed before running it. Don't use the registry cleaner. Just use the normal cleaner.

Hello again Tom. After running CCleaner, my initial home page had reverted to the California/Chester combination I mentioned in my last post, and tabbing opened up the same basic Google layout as before. So I concluded that it hadn't worked and proceeded to recustomise the home page to my own specification. Having done so, I was astounded to find that now, tabbing another homepage worked as it should. I don't know whether it was down to your CCleaner suggestion or what, but at least for now it's working as it should, and I give you credit for the fix.

I'm sorry you had to remake your homepage! I didn't realise it would do that. I thought the iGoogle settings were tied to your account.
