i have been having problems installing/running silverlight. i want to watch netflix and it will not let me install or run silverlight. can u help. i have a vista home premium, servace pack 2, 64 bit.

What specifically happens when you try to install silverlight- error messages etc. ?

nothing happens, thats the problem. i get no error messages. the application appears in my downloads but will not install. i have tried to dl from microsoft and netflix, and even cnet. all the results are the same, nothing happens

Try this-

add Netflix to the "trusted sites" tab in "Internet Options" in IE

did it, still nothing.

also did the elevated command prompt (sfc/scannow) and chkdsk and they both ran to completion and nothing changed

Try using Firefox to download and install Silverlight per these instructions-

Get Silverlight | Microsoft Silverlight

did didnt help
