    Problem - multiple browsers

I just purchased a machine to help with a medical problem. This is a reputable site and all that and I can't seem to get anywhere in trying to get into the forum no matter which browser I use.

With Chrome I get the error shown in the first screenshot.

With Firefox and Pale Moon I get the error shown in the second screenshot.

I have logged into multiple other sites and no problems. I use LastPass.

Can anyone shed any light on this? I'd like to get into the forum as I have some questions to ask about the machine.

The url is RESPeRATE To Lower Blood Pressure - User Forum

It worked for me so try it now. What do you get when you try IE? How about when you try firefox safe mode. I don't know what lastpass is so what do you get when you disable it? Have you tried another machine or even from another location? Perhaps your ISP has it blocked.

    LastPass is a password manager.

I tried Internet Explorer and can't connect with that either.

I tried Firefox on an older laptop with XP and that didn't work.

I have Avast Internet Security 7 on both of these computers. Could that be the problem? If so, how do I remedy it?

    Try with a clean boot,
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
If it does not work, try in safe mode, lets see where the problem lies.

    Re: Problem - multiple browsers

I will try, but the only thing that these two computers and all these browsers have in common is Avast. I have LastPass and I've got over 200 logins in it and I've clicked all over and haven't had one problem getting to or into anything -- only this one site.

The site itself opens for me, and I can click on a particular forum and everything still opens fine to this point, but when I try to click on one of the posted topics to take a look at it, that's where I'm stopped. If I try to "Start a new thread" a perfectly white, blank page opens.

I did the Clean Boot thing and restarted. Screenshot attached is what my msconfig box looks like right now.

I get the exact same result. I can go to the site, I can enter a forum, but I can not open a post and I can not start a new topic.

When you tell me to start in Safe Mode, I assume you mean Safe Mode with networking so that's what I am going to try next.

    Re: Problem - multiple browsers

I did what you instructed and got the same results -- even in Safe Mode with networking.

Why will it let me into the site and it will allow me to sign into the forum. As soon as I click on a post I'm stopped; if I try to open a new post nothing but a white page.

It can't be a browser problem when 4 different browsers give me the same thing.

I don't think it can be Avast when I got the same result in Safe Mode with networking. In that circumstance, Avast is not running, is it?

What on earth can be up with this computer that it is running absolutely great but will not allow me access to one site.

I have gone back into my LastPass and just clicked randomly on different passcards on several occasions now and have been taken right to and into every one. And even with this resperate site, it isn't blocking the site or the forum. It just won't let me open a post, or post.

For a test. If you are wireless and you can get another computer, try with that one.

    Re: Problem - multiple browsers

I'm not able to get another computer. What good would that do when I've already tried 2 computers?

I typed into my Google search bar "why can't I post in resperate?" Any link that comes up in the search that leads directly to a post in that forum gives me the same results. Did you happen to note the error code given on the Chrome screenshot I attached?

    This is just nuts.
