Blank emails with ATT000xx attachment

Hi

I'm new here so sorry if this is a really dumb question and has been answered before - I have looked through the forum and have tried to find the answer but haven't found anything relevant.

I have two gmail addresses which had been routing through to Windows Mail without any problems until around a month ago. From then on, all emails have been blank with a htm attachment - ATT000xx - which contains the text of the email. I had to open the attachment to read the email and, if I wanted to reply, had to copy and paste the text back into the email and then add my reply. I'm self-employed and get a lot of emails every day so this was adding considerably to the time spent on emails. To add to this, if an email was sent from a mobile device I couldn't read it at all and had to go back to gmail.

I've been reading a lot about this problem and it appeared to be an issue with Windows Mail so I decided to change to Windows Live Mail - just did that today - and am gutted to find I'm still having the same problem.

I've disabled the security check on all eml files, cleared cookies, cache, rebooted PC, etc, but nothing seems to be working - I use Microsoft Security Essentials btw.

Can anyone help, please?

Thanks in advance

Maggi

One way to limit ATT attachments is to make sure the email settings allow for HTML and RTF formatted messages. Also, cleaning the inbox may help in creating space for new and incoming over-sized emails. Also, deleting temporary internet files and temp files from the cache may also help reduce the appearance of ATT files in Outlook messages.
