| | View Bellsouth Email Attachments in VISTA I use BellSouth for my email. I am unable to open attachments when logged into my email account on a new VISTA machine I just bought. It works fine on my home computer with XP. The files I cannot open are Word and Excel. When I click on them nothing happens. When I click on properties for the attachment, the screen is blank for "name", "protocol," "type," and "address." When I forward the email to my yahoo email account, the attachments open fine on the same VISTA machine. I have fully licensed versions of the Mircosoft products and I have even tried openning up Word or Excel before trying to open the attachments. Since they open fine in yahoo mail, my guess is that there is something incompatible between Bellsouth webmail and VISTA. I use the Kaspersky internet security suite. Anyone else experience this? |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Hi, Are you logged in to Bellsouth's Website Mail or from Windows Mail? If your using the Website check it's setting for attachments. If your using Windows Mail then: Check your Windows Mail settings. 1. open Windows Mail 2. click on TOOLS menu 3. click on OPTIONS 4. click on SECURITY tab 5. Make sure that you have "Internet Zone" not "Restricted Sites" dotted 6. make sure "Do not allow attachments.........." unchecked 7. click OK to apply Hope this helps, Shawn |
