How to get an animated forum avatar?

Hey guys,

I've seen many of you with animated .GIF's as forum avatars but I seem unable to set one myself.
The forum keeps telling me I am not allowed to upload animated images.. even when I link them from another site.

Anyone care to tell me how I can get it to work?
I have a really nice .GIF I'd really like as my avatar

It should work for you now as long as the image is no bigger that 100x100

Hi Ayporos,

For best results, download the animated file to your PC and then upload it to the forums. Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum dimensions (100 x 100 pixels) or file size (732.4KB) (whichever is smaller). If you do, the image will not be displayed or will be displayed but as a still image as opposed to a moving one.

Hi Martee,

just go to tour userCP and select change avatar, upload a suitable animated gif file you have on your PC

If you need a file to use have a look here, right click and "save file as ..." to save to you PC then you can upload to the forum

Hi Martee,

As far as I know animations (GIF) are not allowed in the signature pane only PNG and JPG images.

I could be wrong on this but the other thing to check is that you remove any existing image from the Sig file before uploading another one (there is a tick box to do this)

Yes, I know. I didnt plan to put the animated picture in the signature, just the one you can see right now. It's working now. Can I have this one as my signature? If so I'm glad.
