Mac VS Pc Rant Thread

i know this wont be too popular or it will be removed but please watch some MAC VS Ps commercial : YouTube - 15 short Ads Mac vs PC

Heres my Rant post yours:
If you think about it apple hasnt done anything in years to wow the audience. i dare any one of you to go to your local high school and mention the name "apple" the only thing most teens will say back is "oh ipod" because thats the one product apple was able to manufacture that got everyone's attention. out of those kids who say "ipod" i guarantee like 80% will say they have a pc.
ALSO the whole thing of "PC's Always get thousands of viruses" is COMPLETELY BIASED by mac fanboys because last time i checked macs get viruses too. why else would the new OS have a malware remover?
ALSO the mac commercial tells ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about why macs are better, because they have nothing to say to the audience that they havent heard before.
Also they say to be the most long lasting/ reliable. i saw that ASUS was most reliable last time so idk wtf they talking about. but if you only used your new pc to go online on facebook like most mac users and listen to itunes and use microsoft word it would last 5 years also. or more formely known as business computers that are still around from 2001 at my job. and they work fine.
FINAL STATEMENT:
The word of Pc is growing rapidly while macis left at the end of the line. new hardwate is announced often and there is always something new to try From esate flashdrives to SSD's to even quad SLI. Mac users can only look forward to new ipods that has been the same ****ty resell year after year with no major features. the only 2 ipods that are different from each other are the first one ever made and the ipod touch. I have no grudge against mac users only when these stupid commercials come on and people rant on how Pc's suck. Last time i checked my custom built pc with 2 blue neon lights and 2x GTX 295's that i built for a friend looked 4x as good as an imac. Now if you will excuse me mac i have to go play crysis, have fun trying to load mario!

BTW you can run mac osx on a pc

You've exaggerated quite a bit with it though. I don't not like Macs, I think they're well built systems, just I find the OS too bland and plain.

Microsoft also made their own adverts taking jabs at how expensive Apple products are, as well, and I wouldn't say they're "behind" on technology. The MacBook Air used SSDs when they were first released, and the Mac Pro comes with an 8 Core dual Xeon option with another option for a quad GPU setup.

Obviously a custom built system will look better than a Mac. Your custom built system looks better than any pre-built Windows system as well and can probably play games better than them. Mac's aren't really aimed at gaming.

I grew up on Macs as our elementary and high schools had Macs. I do like Mac OSX, but I have a problem with the prices of their hardware. Can't justify the prices they want for the computers.

My Computer

Hmm... I use a IBM clone and MS software because I really have no choice in the matter.

I prefer to use my Amiga computer, but it needs parts.

I rather like the Macintosh.

Both the Amiga and the Macintosh did wonderful graphics and music at a time MS said no such things were needed. Of course, MS only had ms-dos at the time.

The early work done by the Xerox research facility at Palo Alto, California lead to the Amiga and Mac using icons, point and click, track ball, etc. Years before it was available on IBM or IBM clones.

Frankly, Gates should have to go public and apologize for his lies about who invented what. But I doubt his ego would allow it.

I think the Mac is expensive due to having a smaller market.

Yes, I know linux is around, but it has become bloat ware. Which is why I stopped using it.

Never really had anything against Apple.

The 2 reasons I would never get one are more options for a PC, and Price.
Not a chance in hell i'd pay what they ask.

In the end It's always the mass production that wins in the end. So I can't say much hope for Mac...
But there again people keep saying they've got the mobile market...When I realised that the iPhone was just a phone I changed my mind about having one.

Apple is a brand which has consumed people. Just because they see the apple logo they will buy it and not realize how much over priced it is! Also, look at how many programs are compatible with windows versus apple. Unfortunately, people see apple as the slick, hip, and modern computing and because windows is not flashy they perfer apple. there is to much eyecandy also in apple which make the user feel dumb. Windows forever!

Like what Calhounhusker said, I guess it all depends how you're brought up with computers really. I've been using Windows since my Dad walked in one day with a big grey box under his arm that had Windows 3.1 on and never really had the need to get a Mac, apart from the occasional times in primary school I used the computers, which had Apple OSs on them.

Programs being compatible for a particular operating system, they have to be written for that operating system.

An Apple Macintosh program wont run on a VMS computer, but then a Windows program wont run under VMS either.

So, its kinda silly to say that Windows compatible computers wont run on a Macintosh. There are Macintosh programs that do the same things. Open Office has versions for many operating systems, so some companies have chosen to be compatible across operating systems. And quantity doesn't always make for quality.

I remember when I had a Lotus 1-2-3 clone on my Amiga Computer, about 1991. It had far more rows and columns available than the ms-dos version. You could move files between the two systems, you just had to remember that Lotus 1-2-3 in ms-dos had limits.

True. I always chuckle when I see someone with a Macbook. What a waste of money. Rather give Gates a hundred for vista or 7.

Apple is all about the lock-in. You get on the bus, you stay on the bus. PCs are all about suck it and see. You can do what you like - trouble is, when people do this and something goes wrong they blame Microsoft. Apple is like fascist Italy; no freedom, but boy, do the trains run on time.
