the clue is knowing the previous years, its 2009 AD (Anno Domini) which roughly translates from medieval latin as "in the year of our lord", if you go pre-AD then it becomes BC (Before Christ), this basically means that the year 0 was the year that jesus christ was born and everyone in the church was going mad during the millenium because they thought he would return after 2000 years, which he did not, so, we owe religion our year count![]()
