Our eyes.

Hello,
We all use computers daily and watch T.V. this is bad if we watch the
screen for long we have to be careful of our eyes......
I just wondered that how many people would be wearing spectacles,
if you do, it would be good to know others eye power.
I do wear, and my power is LEFT (1.5 sph. 0.5 cyl. axis 5)
RIGHT (1.25 sph. 0.75cyl. axis 175)
And i hope mine doesn't increase...

Re: Our eyes.

Well I wear them but I haven't a clue what the numbers you posted mean or what my eye power is just that I wear bifocal ones and I sometimes wonder why I need to as I can see very well without, it does make things a little clearer though with them.

I did have a pair made just for using while on the computer they were single lens and set for a certain distance from the screen but that was a few years ago and now I can actually see fine without them.

Re: Our eyes.

I reckon that I am quite fortunate for my age in that I don't need glasses for anything apart from something to hold a drink in!

Re: Our eyes.

Due to being sat in in front of lots of screens every day here at mission control, I do go for regular checkups on my eyes and I have perfect vision

Re: Our eyes.

Well, I'm slightly near sighted, so I have to have to wear glasses to be able to read anything from a distance of around 30 feet or more. It's not bad though according to the eye doctor, and he doubts that I will ever need a stronger pair of glasses. I can't remember what the strength of my current pair are, but they are thin.
