and i thought craziness was limited to the usa

found this on aol:

Millionaire faces jail for attacking intruder

A millionaire in the UK faces life in prison for attacking a robber who held him and his family at knife point, a story by the Telegraph.co.uk said.
Munir Hussain, 52, was found guilty of "inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent," for attacking Walid Salem, 56, one of three raiders who broke into his house and forced him, his wife and three children to lie on the floor with their hands behind their backs. At some point they were able to overtake Salem, and neighbors say they saw "several men" beating him with weapons including a cricket bat and a metal pole.
Salem was left with injuries including a fractured skull and bruising on the brain. In another twist, Salem could be eligible for criminal injury compensation, even though he recovered to commit other crimes.

Weird News in the Neighborhood

someone breaks into your house, you beat the hell out of them and you're the one who face jail--even though the criminal "recovered to commit other crimes."

Yeah, it is a sad world. The criminals gain the upper hand. I think this is a totally wrong understanding of "respect for the individual".

its ridiculous , a guy my wife knows was arrested and charged after he "illegally detained" a 14 year old theif he caught stealing from his shop , he caught him and locked him in a back room till the police arrived (actually it was a community support officer) , the little sh!t got away with a caution but the shop owner now has a criminal record!!

Ya that crap is just plain pathetic.Crazy is the norm now IMO.LOL I have a clean knife via ammonia and gloves in case I have to shoot some dummy. What am I supposed to wait to see a gun or weapon and hope I drop him 1st ? No thx I'll double tap a couple 9mm hollows center mass no hesitation 2 many people rely on just guns though you really need a decent watch dog to at least alert you or wake you up.Not a yappy breed thats annoying but a dog that keys on people on your property.

Should I go to jail defending myself and family hell no.You're probably thinking I'm a nut haha and you are partially right.I got in an argument with some Canadian over guns LOL.I was like ok I'll shoot some1 you wait and hope the cops show up in time good luck with that....

i'm with you... got a .38 for my wife and i got the shotgun (up and out of the way of the youngins, of course). anyone who breaks into my house is not doing so to have dinner with me and my family; so if I catch the @$$-hole in my house, i'm not shooting to wound. (closed casket)

.38 is it a good brand ? If so I'd use some hot loads / hollow points.I'd say that for any kind of pistol hollow points FTW.38's are notorious for their poor stopping power.Very friendly gun for a woman grip and weight wise.I'm not a big revolver fan either they take longer to shoot / reload.380's are a great gun for women or as a conceal gun.Hot loads + hollows for smaller caliber IMO.I have some 9mm hollows that travel like 1250 fps :O In smaller guns you don't really notice much of a difference recoil wise either especially in an automatic.

Ya gun topics do get nasty usually. They are a necessary evil in this world.Just make sure you get a trigger lock which I think you pretty much have to buy when you purchase a gun.Nothing like coming home to have your own gun pointed at you I'm not positive as you can tell from my avatar I dont like / follow politics heh....
