The UK as per request (feel free to add to this post)

the uk is a strange but mellow place, i believe that john compared it to the USA? It's more like the netherlands in some places, we don't have states, we have countries and regions within them countries...


but these regions can have several countys, for example, the northwest has a few, lancashire, cumbria, yorkshire west, some parts of cheshire.
its the same story across the board with other regions but it does get simpler.
now for a visual representation of the north west.

Great thread.

I know little about the UK, but I've always been interested in traveling and learning about different countries with different cultures.

It would be cool to see pictures of the different areas of the UK members here at VF live in.

BTW, it looks a little cold outside your home!

It was winter lol, it's brightened up a bit now, just rain atm, this is mostly Cumbria and surrounding areas, I'm in Manchester myself, John lives near me as well, about 30 mins drive at a guess lol

Okay, heres my part...
On the map posted above i live in the Met East area, i live in a place called Canvey Island.

At the moment it is getting warmer, and because Canvey is closer to the Equator than the upper parts of the UK, we get the better weather

If anyone wants to know, Canvey Island was originally Dutch, so some of the road names are not like we are used to, Waarden road for example.
it has got loads of green space, we have just had Canvey West Marshes open, which is an RSPB certified bird reserve.
