Mobile Internet Quotas (and q's about the Samsung Galaxy S)

Hi

I'm with virgin mobile UK and when my contract runs out and am looking at getting the Galaxy S on an "unlimited" internet contract. Of course, unlimited actually means 1GB per month in virgins T's & C's and I am wondering how much of that i will use. This would be my first smart-phone so i really have no idea.

It would be connected to 3G/Edge/GPRS for roughly 8hrs in a day receiving the odd email (i dont get much more than 2 or 3 a day), some web browsing, the auto-updating of news & weather feeds and every now and again an app download.
When I am at home I would have it connected to my wifi and so it would not affect my monthly usage.

Would I get anywhere close to using up my 1GB monthly quota??

Thanks

macca

ps. for anyone who owns a galaxy S:

1)is it easy to get it to automatically switch to wifi once its been configured
2)Can you get android widgets for the homescreen
3)can you put app icons on the homescreen
4)does it have GPS
5)if you have used a HTC, is the Samsung TouchWiz interface much worse that the HTC Sense interface as some reviews state

Most smartPhones Have GPS You can get Andoid apps and Put them on the Deskop Also it Depends on the Web Browser because it may be a Mobile Browser or a 32-Bit Browser

Mobile Internet only needs about 100-500 MB a Month when using it Constantly

32-Bit Browser needs 500-2000MB When using Constantly for a Month

I think that Phone Supplys your Needs

Hope This Helps,
Josh

With the 1GB quotas on UK contracts, the monthly usage doesnt take into account the general web browser usage and email retrieval, you can downlaod as many emails and webpages as you like and it wont touch your quota at all, the app downloading will impact the quota though, I think you wont even scrape the surface of your limit.

I think 1Gb will be plenty. I have a 3Gb contract on my USB dongle for my laptop while on holiday, which my Dad and I share, and after using it a lot, we are nowhere near 1Gb, let alone 3Gbs!
