My PC spec is as follows:
:geek:
500 GB SATA-II HDD UDMA 300 7200 16MB
Samsung (S222A) DVD PLUS/-RW 22x Dual Layer - Black (IDE)
4 X USB 2.0 Ports
Motherboard Integrated 5.1 Sound
Motherboard Integrated Ethernet Lan (Broadband Ready)
ThermalTake Blue ORB II - Low Noise
X-Blade Black
450W PSU
ATI Radeon Dual-DVI 4670
Standard Operating System Backup
Built & Tested CP
AMD Phenom II X4 955 (4 x 3.2 GHz) AM3 8MB - Black Edition
No Security Software Included
Corsair 4GB XMS3 PC3-10666 1333MHz (2x2GB) - Lifetime Warranty (DDR3)
MSI 770-C45 (AMD 770) AM3 DDR3

I am currently looking for a new PSU for the above spec PC, as the current one I have is waaaay to loud. I am looking for a similar or higher powered PSU which is 'silent' and aids in cooling.
Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks alot :D

500w is considered good. Unless you are into high demanding games etc.
As this article explains, 500-1000
Depending on the usage expected from your computer

I have 425 watt and its more than enough for my usage, but Im not into games.

Looking at your Specs, I think 500 would be just great for you. Maybe a little more than you need, but better too much than too little.

Cooler Master PSU may be a good choice

A 500W psu is fine... Even probably up to a 6850... If you get a quality one with nice Amps on the 12V.

Coolmasters are okay

I never recomemd going cheap on a psu... a bad psu will take out other parts when it goes.

I'd recomend this psu: Antec TruePower New Modular 550W Power Supply []

Pricey but well worth it.

Very reliable... nice price... yes its a 650 though

Not a bad price for a 520W
Antec High Current Gamer 520W Power Supply []=

Heres a silent psu
Cooler Master Silent Pro Modular 600W Power Supply [RS600-AMBAD3-UK]=

Hope that shows soe good examples.

Hello!

I know what you mean about noise at any rate! Not my PSU, but my DVD drive roars like a dinosaur taken a head shot! Opted for a superfast DVD drive. Super fast it may be, but loud it very certainly is! Does Rich have the same problem with his DVD drive? lol

Super quiet means that I do not hear it - my box is under the desk though. That compares to a Dell box in my other home with a stock PSU which I do hear. But there the box is on the desk.
