So I got this virus, this was a malware virus that made it appear like an anti virus program that NEEDED to be bought and registered to work. Obviously knowing what I have and don't have on this PC I knew it wasn't real and that it was a virus, It wouldn't let me access the internet or anything like that. So I googled it on my phone and found out it was oij.exe. Then used Ubuntu which is partitioned onto my hardrive to download Malwarebytes, that got rid of the virus as well as a bootscan and sweep from Avast.
now I get this lovely mesage every time i try and open anything
I am pissed off, someone has to use this laptop tomorrow and will probably kill me as it it theirs. What do I do to return everything to how it was.
the restore to a previous point will not work, the virus deleted all the restore points so I'm stuck with this. Using a vista recovery disk did ****.
I mean like nothing runs at boot up, nothing will open, the laptop starts and I can log in, it just gives me that error message for everything I do that doesn't involve opening my computer or final fantasy 7 for some reason.
