Help with Vista 64-bit -- Continuous BSOD

LMVR

New Member
I recently acquired a new Gateway, Dual Processor with 4GB memory, etc. It brought along the version of Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit with SP1.

All seemed well for the first couple of hours, until I got a blue screen. I'd been trying for ages to install Spore, and after I managed I thought that might have been the problem -- so I uninstalled the program fully.

It worked fine after that, until a couple of hours later -- were I got another blue screen. And I've been getting them ever since for the past two days -- every few hours or so.

(I think the BSOD is something like this one.)

If you could provide me with some answers as to why this might be happening, or any tips on how to fix it I'd be grateful.

Also, whenever I unplug the laptop from the charger and use it with the battery only the screen tends to get all... Fuzzy every now and then. Not exactly sure how to explain it.

Troubleshooting Windows STOP messages

quote from that page:

0x0000000A: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
(Click to consult the online MSDN article.)
Typically due to a bad driver, or faulty or incompatible hardware or software. Use the General Troubleshooting of STOP Messages checklist above. Technically, this error condition means that a kernel-mode process or driver tried to access a memory location to which it did not have permission, or at a kernel Interrupt ReQuest Level (IRQL) that was too high. (A kernel-mode process can access only other processes that have an IRQL lower than, or equal to, its own.)

My bad dearies, that's not the correct error screen. o.x
I got it again right after turning the laptop on - and it's 0x0000000F or something like that.

Hi LMVR, welcome to the board.
This seem to be over heat issue. Have you contact Gate Way about this problem? Since you got it for a few days, I would return it for another one.

Regards,
Bruce
