Hi everyone,

i am really needing help. I have just bought a new pc, its just about 2 weeks old now....i am running 64bit vista ultimate. The problem is, whenever i click on the power icon ( the little cicle with vertical line on top of it ), my computer would go to "sleep" mode which is fine...but then when i "wake" my pc again, it would probably run for about 10 seconds maximum ( usually 5 seconds or so ), then it would give me blue screen then it would restarts. I would then have to choose if want to load windows normally or safe mode.

I am not tech savvy and i really need help on this one. I really want my new system to be stable for my line of work.

has anyone know the solution to this?

If you click the vista start orb and in the search bar type Power Options then hit enter this will open a new window. Click the circle that says High Performance and then underneath that click the Change plan settings.

Then click Change advanced power settings. A new window will open and you then click on Power button and lid. Then click on Start menu power button and change the setting to Shut down. Click Apply then OK

On the power options window that still open click Save changes then close that window and reboot your pc

In your case, it's very likely that the crash is caused by a faulty driver which is unable to correctly handle power state transitions.
