BSOD Help. Vista Ultimate x64

Hey,

I've had this laptop for almost a year now. Ive had some trouble for a while between BSOD's and my wireless internet being temperamental. I could really use some help dealing with the BSOD issues. My most recent was this morning and I had 2 yesterday. The one today read System_Service_Exception at the top. I didnt get to write down all the information of the crash because my comp was set to reboot after the BSOD. I set it not to do this just now so the next crash I can have a more detailed report of the issue. I'll post some information I hope can be useful in figuring this out.

Thank you,

Vallex

They all seem to point to differant items , but have one thing in common WOW.exe

2 seem to be related to direct X one to usb video one to the operating system but all to WOW.exe , if you look at your running processes is wow.exe there?

do you play world of warcraft (amongst other things wow.exe can be a process related to that game.

Perhaps someone with a little more knowlage of crash dumps will take a look too :)

Yeah I was looking through the dump files myself and was just about to add that most of the crashes I've experienced have been while playing world of warcraft. some have occurred while not playing though

gateway told me it had something to do with my drivers, but they're all up to date. infact they sent me drivers to use that were incompatable with my comp.. any info would be great. thanks

Have you updated WoW recently? If not, I'd suggest doing it. Memory dumps that continually mention one process tend to have something to do with that one process (even though it's not the direct cause of the BSOD).

Here's a list of your older drivers that were running when the crashes happened. In particular the SiWinAcc.sys (Silicone Image SATALink Accelerator Driver) is from 2004. Don't worry about the drivers that are from Windows - Windows Update takes care of them.

If you're still getting BSOD's after updating the drivers let us know and we'll run some more tests.:

start at gateway mate , goto tech help or downloads , put in yuor make and model and see what comes up

you want motherboard drivers (which will include chipset drivers) soundcard drivers (may be intergrated in yuor mobo drivers) Network drivers , basically if theirs a driver there download it and update it ;)

get your graphics card driver here

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

uninstall old one via control panel and reboot first

also go here

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...38-DB71-4C1B-BC6A-9B6652CD92A3&displaylang=en

click on continue then download , then run the DX installer it will search and see if there are any updates for your direct x install then automatically download and install them , keep that installer and run it once a month

need any help just shout :)

EDIT...........graphics card drivers

http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_notebook_winvista64_186.03_whql.html

they will have these on the gateway site , but use my link :)

Hey, so I just now updated everything you told me to. one driver failed from gateway because it said my system did not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software, that file was P-173XP-6313h_MATRIX_INTEL_7.0.0.1020.zip which is found at this address Intel Matrix Storage Driver Version: 7.0.0.1020 other than that all the other drivers loaded on smoothly. Hopefully this will fix the issue. If I get another BSOD I will be sure to post back up the report and teh details. thanks very much,

Vallex

Please upload the minidump for this crash.
What are you using that uses video over your USB ports?

Download new drivers for that device (don't use the CD/DVD that came with it), uninstall the current one's through Control Panel...Programs...Uninstall a program, then install the one's that you downloaded.
