Getting Multiple Blue Screen Errors

I have gotten 3 or 4 different blue screen errors. The most recent a “page fault in nonpaged area” (or something like that) seems to be associated with my recent download of an Everquest II trial, so I am not that concerned with that one. I am, however, concerned with the others because Windows thinks it is a hardware problem.
My computer also sometimes powers off without warning. It seems to do this if it gets too hot, which seems to happen fairly easily (if it is sitting on a table or something and I am surfing the internet). Not sure if the two things are related or not.
I have tried to zip my minidump folder as has been asked on other threads, but it tells me that I don’t have permission.

Can you go into c:\windows\minidump, zip the dump files (*.dmp) and upload them to us.

I have tried to do that, but it tells me that I don't have permission?

When I go into properties it says that I am on the allow list with "Full Control" but when I try to open or zip them it tells me that I have no read permission and no access privileges.

I am the only user and admin. I tried the method using the elevated command prompt and even though it said it was successful, I am still unable to zip the Minidump folder.

Not sure if this will work or not. tried making a copy of the minidump folder on the desktop then zipping it. Here's hoping.

The folder didn't have any files for me. can you look in the folder for existing files and, if there, zip those?

Ugh, I don't understand why it's not working with the original file. I repeated the file ownership steps for the elevated command prompt and got the messages saying it was successful but still not working, had the same luck with the second method.

You successfully created a zipped shortcut. No good.

Boot into safe mode Go to folder. Right click -> send to -> compressed zip folder.

Ken, I get "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" and ntoskrnl.exe.

Desebarn, do you have SP2 installed?

I've used the one built into Vista on a couple of occasions and it passed the RAM.
Then I ran the test that I recommend, and it found errors.
