Thanks for the support informartion.
I did the following as mentioned in driver
verifier page provided by richard
Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers
NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
Select "Finish" on the next page.
After pressing FINISH button a pop-up appeared which asked me to restart the machine.
After I restarted my machine and logged in in few seconds the screen turned blank. Kindly look at the attached image file
. I waited for 1.5 hours but it remained as it is and then I switched off my machine by pressing power button.
Another thing happening now is whenever I boot my machine I get following error
SMART hard disk error.
SMART has identified imminent failure .. etc etc .... run diagnostic hard disk test in system diagnostic.
I ran the Memory test and Primary Hard Disk test from BIOS.
Memory test was passed. But Hard disk test wasnt even complete (SHort test was running and was just 30-40% complete) and machine goes off. I retried it 2-3 times and same thing happened.
I have Norton Internet security 2010. Didnt find any virus thru its SCAN.
Going to do now what's been suggested by Stoney--> /sfc/scannow.
Do you think my hard disk is faulty. HP support says my Hard disk is faulty as it is not passing BIOS diagnostic TEST.
