I just had a BSOD, and I don't have the debugging software installed, so could somebody analyse my minidump for me please?

I haven't installed any new software or drivers and I haven't had a BSOD for months. The error was:

MEMORY_MANAGEMENT

Thanks

Conclusions

The bug code indicates that the problem is either memory or driver related. You should perform the above memory test overnight.

The probable cause is listed as ntkrpamp.exe )
ntkrpamp.exe is a process associated with Microsoft Windows Operating System from Microsoft Corporation.

Although not required in all bsods, you may want to use the driver verifier to help you determine the driver that is the problem
http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lo...-driver-verifier-identify-issues-drivers.html

In addition, you should begin to replace these old drivers. If the problem contiues after these changes repost.

I made your analysis piecemeal. I save then go on, to avoid losing any work that I have done. Please read the entire report again. There is an easy way to test for the bad driver. But, it is always good to have everything up to date.

Ok, I am about to restart the computer for the driver verifier part. Before I do, when do I have to stop doing so? Is it after I crash again?

Thanks stoneys, I will try the SFC again after this.

You may want to run it several times. It will crash when it finds a bad driver

From the instructions

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

I have rebooted three times, and nothing has failed or crashed. I have updated a few of the drivers, and I have run the SFC again. The SFC found nothing, and I haven't had any BSODs since that one.

It says use it for 36 hours if no crash. If nothing crashes, then probably memory.

Although the dump reports are not 100% precise, and sometimes several are needed,
ntkrpamp.exe ponts toward a driver. Run the verifier 36 hours.

No problem, it was well deserved :) It's strange because nothing significant has changed on my system and I haven't had a BSOD for about 6 months now. It doesn't really matter now anyway, because I'm upgrading to w7 in a week or so.

Hey Thanks for the rep buddy. I hope that we can get this to work out. Don't like to give refunds.

No problem, it was well deserved :) It's strange because nothing significant has changed on my system and I haven't had a BSOD for about 6 months now. It doesn't really matter now anyway, because I'm upgrading to w7 in a week or so.

Tom

You will love it. I am on 7 now. You know where to come with questions.

Thanks and of course I do, I think I'll dual boot Windows 7 Ultimate with Ubuntu :)

It may matter, if memory, it is probably ram. You will need the same ram with 7.

If it is ram, it will be detected with the mem test. You can replace it. RAM is very cheap.
