Solved Can't Change Desktop Backgound (Vista)

Hello,

I got a rootkit virus a few days ago but I'm pretty sure I removed it now.
Ever since then I'm not able to change my desktop background, it just stays black. I looked EVERYWHERE for this and couldn't find anything. Also, if there is like a file on the desktop and i delete it and the box pops up usually it has like a preview of the thing your deleting but all mine has is a black square. I am able to change the color of the background but I just can't put any pictures on it. If I go online and find a picture and right click and set as background then it changes. But I can't put any personal pictures up. Please help me.

Run 4 or 5 times, sometimes it takes a few runs to fix the problems.

I do not have the Vista DVD because we bought this computer with Vista already on it and we didn't get a CD, sorry.

If you upload the picture to imageshack:

ImageShack® - Online Media Hosting

Then open it and set it as your wallpaper.

What is the make and full model number of your computer? Many manufacturers don't include a physical installation disk nowadays. However, they should offer a means of creating a set from the system restoration partition, and also a means of restoring your system from it. Check your manual for details on doing this. If you haven't already done so, I would suggest that you create the restore disk(s).
