BSOD unmountable

My grandmother's computer is an Acer Aspire 5570-2792 laptop
Windows Vista basic.

Just this morning, whenever the computer was started up, it would read:

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.

If windows files have been damaged or configured incorrectly, Startup Repair can help diagnose and fix the problem. If power was interrupted during startup, choose Start Windows Normally.
It gives me two options, launch the startup repair, and start windows normally.

If I choose to start normally, it takes longer than usual to load, and after it does, the little progress bar freezes for a split second and shows a BSOD, on which it reads UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME, lower it reads:
0x000000ED (0x83619E20,0xC000009C,0x00000000,0x00000000)
or so I can see from the picture I took, it only flashed the BSOD for a split second, before pretty much restarting the process all over again, returning to the "Windows failed to start" screen...

Should I choose to repair however, it moves right to the screen with the loading bar at the bottom, and then remains a black screen for several minutes.. If I leave it be, the only progress made, is that the cursor shows up and is movable, slightly larger than normal (lower resolution), but that's it. To get anywhere else, it requires me restarting the machine.

What can I do to fix this if anything?
