I think that my son shut the computer off as Windows Update was Updating. And now it wont boot. I was having trouble pre this problem. like loosing services and other things seemed to falling off of the operating system like system restore and others. I had Deep freeze on it but just got that disabled I can say that is not the problem,99%. anyway I canor have the CMD open and am trying to do,well I am not sure. System was not on. or those options wont work .start up repair wont work restore has not worked everything I can try has not worked. so what can I do from CMD I have rebuilt bcd fix bootmbr. Cant I just type C:start or rum or navagate my hard drive from CMD.Or go somewhere that will tell me whats missing from boot. At one time I got a "SYSTEM CONFIGURATION CORRUPT' I did CHKDSK everything checked out but the last line says, 'Failed to transfer logged messages to the event log with status 50' I have the vista disk i have tried everything I can look up on the net and now I am in your hands!!@!

Have you got the restore disk that should have come with the computer?
Boot into your bios and ensure the dvd drive is set as the first boot device.
Put your restore disk or rescue disk and see if this helps.
