Boot Problems

Hi there,

Currently I am having boot problems and I was hoping somebody on these forums may be able to help me. During boot my computer hangs at the "Verifying DMI Pool Data" process (sometimes for over 5 mins) and then more often than not I get the following message of "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER". I say more often than not because when I get this error and restart it is possible that Windows will load fine again (about a 20% chance).

I know people have started other threads with this error but I think my case is slightly different to what I've seen since after trying some suggestions from those threads I still have this problem. I am confident with computers and I'm willing to try out people's suggestions, so any advice I get would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

FYI: Using Testdisk under Puppy Linux I was able to write a new partition table and master boot record. Windows loaded immediately (rather than hanging as before) so hopefully this problem is fixed.
