major problem even after reinstall of vista

I dont know how to fix my computer, it is a new 1 one year old HP-vista computer that worked fine until 1 week ago. After countless systemcrashes , prgram crashes and bluescreens(with maybe 20+ diffenent reasons, some reoccuring others new) and googling for remedies I first tried system restore to earlier point which didnt work, stopped before finnished with some error message, then I finally used the HP restore to the settings when purchased.

However I get the same error messages(such as windows explorer, internet explorer, host process etc stopped working) and restartes even though it should be a as a new computer, no programs is installed yet. systemmemory checking indicates a RAM problem but I doubt there is anything wrong with the sticks, the computer is only one year old? How do I proceed? Could it be that the "restore section" HP uses to original settings have been damaged by whatever caused this mess in the first place? What can I do and where can I look to find out what is wrong?

some blue screen messages are lately mostly memory management, often also page fault in non page area, IRQL not less or equal 0x0000001A or bad pool caller 0X000000C2

the latest error message on the system has recovered from an unexcpected shutdown

BCCODE: 1a BCP1: 0000400

However since I have reinstalled everything I can no longer see any logfiles or likewise of all the problems erors causing this. And now I have almost no programs only those that was installed when purchasing the product.

Will installing through a disk effectively wipe out any corrupt memory problems etc, cause it is evident whatever problems I had are still on eventhough I have reinstalled the whole operativesystem, how is that possible? Could the restore section in the computer be "corrup" to and if so a install from windows cd would really start over and clean out all errors(unless they are hardware from within the machine) right? I didnt get an cd from the manufacturer but have oredered one but it will take some weeks to get it

So my main question here unless someone can pinpoint me to a way to solve this mess without using the cd from the manufacturer is this:

I have a windows XP cd at home, will installing that one do the trick, aka make sure i get a "clean" error free computer again to start from? If it doesnt work good will I be able to still use the recovery cd with vista when it arrives, aka either using xp for 2 weeks while waiting or will me trying to install xp over vista risk messing my computer up entirely, I still have 2 months garantee left on the computer and wouldnt like risking that guarantee if it is voided by using xp which will make the systme crash entirely?

Since you have two months warranty,i would advise you to make use of that warranty.Because your memory test is already indicating problem with your memory. So go for the warranty, when you still have it.
