Spooler application has stopped working

I am a new user of this forum and am not sure if this is the right place to ask for help. My vista has started giving me trouble and after i tried to uninstall some appplications, i am getting a message "Spooler application has stopped working". When i connect to my wireless internet, i am not able to use any browser. I read somewhere that this problem, though it seems to relate to printing, also affects internet connections. Searching the internet, i came across some registry cleaners like regcure but i am afraid these may not be genuine. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Don't use the reg cleaner. CCleaner is a safe one to use.
To turn on print spooler go to Start,type Services.msc.
Scroll to print spooler and highlight,Right Click, go to Properties
In the start up box select Automatic, and restart the service.

I tried system restore but it is consistently returning error message and is unable to complete. I do not know why but am finding only restore points upto a week ago. Is there any way to go to earlier system restore points? Does microsoft provide a repair disc? I do not have installation disc as i did not get one with my original purchase of lenovo machine

Several posters have made a mistake, in this area, perhaps you are too. When you are at the screen that shows the dates available, at the lower left there is a box to tick to see additional points. You should have more than a week, unless your do not have room on your drive.
