Corrupted Windows Vista

Sorry for weird typing - I am doing this on my iPhone 4 due to corrupt windows vista.

I need help - urgently.
I was doing some work on my computer, suddenly, my PC went frozen. So I shut down the computer. After the windows boot process and before the login screen, it doesn't appear to do anything. it has a black screen with the cursor - not showing the login screen.

I got my Vista CD (includes recovery tools) and insert it in my computer. Loaded the recovery tools and tried Startup Repair, System Restore and Command Prompt.

Problems:

Startup Repair - Tried it 5 times, it tells that it couldn't detect a problem.

System Restore - Couldn't find a restore point to restore to.

Command Prompt - tried chkdsk /f, doesn't work; tried sfc /scannow, it says that windows resource protection could not perform the requested operations.

Any suggestions? Can't be bothered doing a clean install cos I still have my important stuff - projects and the MS Office 2010 Professional Plus from MSDN Technet.

Im going to delete the Windows Vista partition and keep the Windows 7 Partition - I can't access the partition - but I'm still able to use the computer.

Are you sure? I am sure we could try a few more things, though I won't deny that you are in a bit of a tight spot.

Nvm, I got it fixed by an advanced computer repair person.
Apparently, I got caught by a computer virus.

But I don't see why, I have Norton 360 v4 - didn't detect it... compared to Avast.
I might just get my refund back from Symantec.

I am afraid to say that all anti-virus scanners miss malware. In fact (shocking statistic) they only catch about 70% of malware! The best you can do is choose an anti-virus software, Norton, Avast!, MSE, keep it Enabled and Updated, choose a Firewall, keep it Enabled, and run MBAM Quick Scan every two weeks or so. If you want more tips, just ask, and I will post my Prevention Speech that took me so many hours to write!

I had the same issue any advice on how to fix it?
I got my Vista CD (includes recovery tools) and insert it in my computer. Loaded the recovery tools and tried Startup Repair, System Restore and Command Prompt.

Problems:

Startup Repair - Tried it 5 times, it tells that it couldn't detect a problem.

System Restore - Couldn't find a restore point to restore to.

Command Prompt - tried chkdsk /f, doesn't work; tried sfc /scannow, it says that windows resource protection could not perform the requested operations.

Any idea what I should do next?

Hello!

This is not going to be a particularly easy fix, which is going to take some digging. Would you mind creating a new thread for me?

Thanks so much!
