System restarts when moving hdd to another pc

OK I took out a hdd with vista 32bit from my old pc (32bit) and put it in my new pc (x64) and booted - the green bar shows up then the system resets and loops.
Ive tried everything to get it working to no avail, this includes:
reducing ram to 2gb
disabling legacy usb
deleting drivers
trying a ghost backup
repairing with recovery console
etc etc
I stumbled across something though. I took out the HDD and tried it in a different pc again (x64 but different to above), and it worked straight off, this is an entirely different PC again. So there must be a setting in the mobos bios its simply not liking, but Ive no idea what.

Anyone have any clues what to disable that would cause this fault? Ive tried USB legacy, LAN, 1394 and some other things but its not having it.

I feel IM close but need some help!
The troublesome mobo is the asus p5b deluxe.

So youre trying to boot 1 computer with the os drive of another?

That almost never works... Infact I'm i'm surprised that you had 1 boot.

I'm not sure what you mean by a 32bit compter and 64bit computer.... Most new cpus are 64bit, Its the os thats either 32 or 64.

Its most likely a hardware incompatibility, not just a bios setting.

the hdd taken out ha a 32bit OS on (vista 32bit) and was previouslly in a 32bit machine.

It is now in a 64bit machine, but wont boot.

However put it in another 64bit machine and it will.

So how can I make it work in the one that wont :)

Vista doesn't care if your computer is 32 or 64bit... I'd wager your "32bit" computer isd 64bit, as 64bit processers have been around since athlons and PIVs.

I think you got very lucky the other system booted... Also note doing this violates Vistas ToS...

You might get away with a repair of Vista from the disk, or simular resuce disk you can d/l from various sources.

What are all your computers specs?
