Vista Business Boot Problem

After I boot up the system and log in, the screen will go black and just sit there. It will go no further. Sometimes I am lucky enough to get in, but the system takes a good 2min+ to load and not all of my startup programs will be shown in the system tray. Is this something that will require the installation disk to fix (I do not have it)? If it is then how can I fix it without the installation disk? No error messages pop up, the screen just goes black.

Try this first: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/91467-startup-repair.html
If it doesn't work, then try these free diagnostics:
H/W Diagnostics:
Please start by running these bootable hardware diagnostics:
Memory Diagnostics (read the details at the link)
HD Diagnostic (read the details at the link)

Also, please run one of these free, independent online malware scans to ensure that your current protection hasn't been compromised: Malware (read the details at the link)

If your system has the capability for creating System Recovery disks, I'd suggest doing it just in case.
Otherwise you'd have to order them from the manufacturer - and that would take a while and would cost you.
