We updated chipset yesterday because the Mouse and the Keyboard on the Vista Home Basic would not function with our Aten Master View CS 1784, used together with one W7 32 AND one W7 64 on the switcher.
Used direkt into the Vista computer both the Mouse and the Keyboard worked perfect ,both before and after updating chipset for the motherboard. We already have updated the firmware in the Aten switcher.
When we just updated the Vista it seemed that the problem was fixed , because we closed the electricity down also completely.
The day after the same thing occurred.
I wonder if I maybe should do something more ,
or if I might have missed something about what to do.
Is it maybe some other driver for Bios missing in Vista or ???

Vista or Win7?
32 or 64 bit?

PS2 or USB Mouse?
PS2 or USB Keyboard?

What happens if you unplug/replug the mouse/keyboard?

Vista ,W7 32 and W7 64 on one switcher abel to take four computers.

The mouse is USB ( Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse v2,1 Model 1094)

The keyboard is USB ( Logitech Model Y-BL49A )

The Vista computer is failing .W7 32 and W7 64 works all the time .

The Vista works ok when changing the place

of the mouse and the keyboard on the switcher,

and it works on both W7 32 and W7 64 through the switcher even without any other

changes or restarts. Even when mouse and keyboard are switched.

Thats not right to have the keyboard where it says mouse.

It is just that we as a Band cant have it like that .

We dont want to change between keyboard in and mouse in on the switcher,

every time we start up also the front of the house system.

Then we want to do the mixing of the drums.

If it is the Motherboard . Ok we then change it.

We can have four Computers through the switcher

and we have an external digital mixer as the Master.

I don't think that it's the motherboard. I have seen problems like this with other OS's on simpler KVM switches - so I wonder if it's possible that the KVM doesn't operate correctly with Vista?

Have you tried switching the leads around (to put the Vista system on a different port in the KVM switch)?
Have you tried another computer to see if it works (I'd suggest trying another Vista computer if possible).

Have you tried the Autoscan setting (from the Aten manual) to see if that picks up the Vista system?

Other than that, I'd suggest contacting the Aten support service for more expert help.

Autoscan ok.Where did you see that in the Manual.
Another Vista maybe later.
Ok I found something under Alternative Manual Port Settings Thank you

Autoscan is on the first page of Chapter 3 (english version)
Thanks a lot.I was autoscanning now and that part I had missed.
It was partly fixing the problem.
I am now focusing on the hotkey actions.
I was using HSM with F5 to fix USB losing focus.
I am going to try to configurate every port with hotkey actions.
I did not realice that the switcher was abel to control that much in all the computers.

Now when you made it half the way in this thread.
I mean everytime we start the switcher now we have to do HSM + F5 to fix the lost focus on the Vista only.
Thats probarbly not an Aten-support question then.

To be quite frank with you, I have no idea what we're doing. I'm just making guesses from my experience with other KVM's and from reading the Aten manual.

I think we solved the problem, using Alternative Manual Port Selection Settings bringing only KVM focus to the computer because we dont have audio through the switcher.
Thank you very much for what you did.
It was possible to fix with the Aten manual , even though the problem was in Vista
I think maybe the answere is in the discussion , and of course to understand the manuals in English.

Today is the first day that the Vista started without losing focus on USB, but we are not convinced yet. What was the problem .It seemed to have cured itself.
That's of course not the case .
Yesterday we did a lot of different hotkey actions although we don't have our audio through the switcher.
Thats made it easier, but we shutted down all three computers and all the electricity, every time , but doing both direct to port hotkey actions back and forward,
and in the same time Alternative Manual Port Selection Settings,
to focus only the KVM.
Then we had at one time something strange to occuring.
After all this problems with only the Vista computer , and then W732 and W764 was perfect all the time.
Then suddenly after starting all three both W7 32 and W7 64 was at one time freezing while Vista was not.
Next start was Vista freezing again while W7 32 and W7 64 was good.
That was just once and when we went to sleep , Vista was still freezing'
but this day Wednesday all three started perfect.
Let us see if it stays that way now now.
For me it seems a little bit strange.
I mean that I want to know.

Can you exchange the Aten unit for another one (to see if it's the unit that's at fault)?
I cant do that , but I am going to the shop where I bought it and they will help finding out.
They will of course look at the Vista computer also .Later we will find out if it is a software-problem or a Aten -switcher-problem.

Sorry ,we cant have the unit replaced yet.
The sStore where we got it try to find out Whats wrong, by changing also Bios drivers, and after that I also uninstalled all drivers and toggled Mouse emulation control that I had missed in the manual before ,the mouse is then focusing also for The Vista computer, but the keyboard is still freezing in the Vista only, but I found out another thing in the Belarc Advisor that might be the reason. It says like this :

I'm having some problems with my eyes and can't make out the first post (about the system account being disabled). I'd wonder if that was a problem as the system wouldn't run if the account was disabled - maybe it's just an error in Belarc.

As for the ISATAP/6to4/Teredo adapter errors, go to Device Manager
Open up the Network Adapters category.
Right click on each and every ISATAP/6to4/Teredo adapter and select "Uninstall"
If needed they'll come back after you reboot - but in most cases they aren't needed and don't come back.
