    Windows Update resulted in BSOD...

and did something where I couldn't get into Vista. The problem resulted in boot manager failing to find OS Loader. This basically ruined my computer and I had to take it to a shop where they had to reformat. I lost all my data and programs that I had for the past three years. I am very pissed that the updates caused all this. I know I'm not the only one that has experienced this so why does Microsoft or whoever that's creating these updates do this? Don't they know they are messing up many people's lives? Or do they know but they don't care?

Anyway, my suggestion is to disable automatic Windows Updates and don't even update period. The updates can ruin your computer and your life...

I agree to the very end of your post. Yes, turn off automatic, but do it manually; one at a time. When an update requires a restart there is a conflict if many require the same. Install one or two at a time and you will not have problems.
