Black Screen of Death

I've had my dell studio 15 laptop for about four months now. The only problem I've been having with it is that the screen tends to go completely black when I run too many tabs and doing a bit too much at once. Sometimes the laptop makes a really loud buzzing noise. Sometimes it just goes black and I would have to restart the laptop. I am most definitely sure that the sound is coming from the internal parts of the laptop. There are also times where I watch a video on firefox and my screen freezes up for a few seconds and returns me back to normal but the video is green, the audio still working. Anyone know what my problem is?
