Formatting issues

I recently purchased a WD 2t Caviar Green internal HD (SATA) for storage. I also have the 54% issue.( only formats halfway). I have updated my nvidia force sata controller driver and still won't format the whole thing. I can use Partition Wizard 5 professional edition to format it, but don't want to take the chance of it not doing the job correctly(only takes seconds to format 2t?) It has initialized the hd and under type reads GPT data partion. I've spent hours searching online for answers to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Well, as of yesterday evening, I got to the point of being able to split the hardrive into 2 900+ partions with Partition Wizard 5. It took a long time for it to format and I'm letting it do the other partition while at work. When I checked it using computer tab, it didn't show the 2 partitions yet , so hopefullyit will when it's done. If it does, I'll check to see if I can format each partition using the disk manager utility. And thanks Theog. I'll do that at home later today.

[/IMG]SO HERE'S THE LATEST. THE PARTITION WIZARD COMPLETED BOTH FORMATS BUT ONLY ONE PARTITION "STUCK" . I AM IN THE PROCESS OF FORMATING THE SECOND PARTITION. The computer tab shows that Vista recognizes the first partition as 933gb free of 933gb. once the second partition is done, I'l try formating one under disk management. Kinda sucks though it won't recognize the full drive and have to go thru all this crap.

[/IMG]After a weekend of headaches, here's the scoop so far. I used my Partition
Wizard 5 to get one partition of 933gb to show up as formatted in computer tab. The other 960+ I tried and failed to format whole. I split that into 2 400+ partitions and tried to format again. One did and the other showed up as like 33gb( pulled hair out at this point and almost got the shotgun out). I now have run a full SMART scan on it over night and it says no errors. So I need some assistance please.
