Today I bought a wired xbox 360 controller for windows and I got the blue screen of death.... I soon realised this was a common problem when looking it up on the internet but so far I can't find a solution.
As soon as I plug in the controller the computer crashes and gets the blue screen. I tried deleting the drivers and using it and redownloading the drivers but everything came to the same result. I've also tried every usb slot and got the same result. I bought this controller thinking it be a hastle free plug in and play but i guess thats life.

It maybe down to data execution prevention or DEP for short, have you tried disabling it for a short while to test?

You can learn more about DEP and how to disable it here
