Freeze at desktop, can't do ANYTHING

Hi all,

I am really hoping someone can help me, as I am lost completely. My computer has been fine for the entire time I've had it. Yesterday, I came home and turned it on. It booted fine, and brought me to my logon screen, where I logged on. It brought me to the desktop, and it went real real slow, and a t ab on the start menu bar came up and was called Hotkey. There were a few of them. I tried to close them, but it didn't respond, so I manually rebooted the computer. Now when I start it up, it freezes at the desktop. I can hover the mouse over icons, but if I click, it locks. I can't use the start menu, and Cntrl Alt Del does not work. If i click a couple things the mouse pointer will start thinking, then lock again. I let it sit for a little after hitting cntrl alt del, and it threw me into a black screen. What's even more strange, when I start it up regularly, my internet goes down, and I can't access netflix through my wii or anything with my Xbox. I cannot find anything. I used spy bot and hijack this and couldn't find anything. Norton's won't scan in safe mode for some reason. I am currently in safemode with networking.

Any ideas / advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks much,

Jeff
