Odd Vista Explorer behavior

Don't know if this is the right place for this or not, but....

I thought pictures would speak louder than words... I have no idea what has happened, and I haven't installed any new applications, but did have a power outage a couple of days ago. This behavior started this morning...

The "other (63)" items came from nowhere. Also, in other apps (3rd pic here) the + icons don't expand the drive - I'm sure all a function of the same thing.

Anyone got any clue at all?

I'm on Vista Home Premium SP2, Sony VAIO laptop/4GB ram. 2 internal hard drives, a couple of external WD drives, as well as a NAS drive. A:/B: are subst drives.

Hi,

I am not sure if this will be of any use, but look in the device manager (Show hidden devices too) under USB (Only USB for now) & delete any items listed that are unknown to you.
