Getting BSOD errors intermittently

Hello all,

I recently started having trouble with my PC. A few weeks ago, I installed a Windows update and started to play World of Warcraft, and then the PC locked up where I had to hit the reset button to reboot. The PC would not load into Windows and would be stuck at the loading splash screen forever. I tried reinstalling Windows, but the hard drive would disappear from BIOS so I purchased a new hard drive and installed a fresh copy of Vista Home Premium 64. I installed the lastest Nvidia drivers for my video cards and my motherboard and started getting blue screen errors again. I have attached my minidump for examination. I need help to fix this issue. Thanks!

Typically due to a bad driver, or faulty or incompatible hardware or software. Technically, this error condition means that a kernel-mode process or driver tried to access a memory location to which it did not have permission, or at a kernel Interrupt ReQuest Level (IRQL) that was too high. (A kernel-mode process can access only other processes that have an IRQL lower than, or equal to, its own

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If a kernel debugger is available get the stack backtrace.
Arguments:
Arg1: fffff680e5e1c250, memory referenced
Arg2: 0000000000000002, IRQL
Arg3: 0000000000000000, bitfield :
 bit 0 : value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation
bit 3 : value 0 = not an execute operation, 1 = execute operation (only on chips which support this level of status)
Arg4: fffff80001c6267a, address which referenced memory

The reports that you have submitted reveal clues to the cause of your problem. They do not give a definitive answer. The more reports that we receive the more clues are made available improving our chances of finding a solution to your problem. Each remedy suggested must be performed regardless of placement in this report or other variables. You may have to experience several more BSODs until the final answer is discovered.

If overclocking restore normal settings

SFC /scannow
System Files - SFC Command

Scan with your Anti Virus

Update outdated listed drivers. If I have inadvertently listed any Microsoft Drivers, they can be ignored.

Asacpi.sys is a driver from the Austek Computer Corp. Your driver is very old and is known to cause BSOD's in current Windows versions; it must be updated

How to Find Drivers
search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone - will help you search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
- The most common drivers are listed on this page: http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.html
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: http://www.carrona.org/drvrdown.html

To remove any left over driver remnants, especially from graphics cards, use driver sweeper

You can also locate information about your driver using this information

Download memtest86 and test RAM

Run for 8 passes
If passes try a good stick in each slot for 3 passes
If fails do the same for 8 passes.

After performing all of the above, post back with any new BSOD reports, or indicate that the attempted repairs were successful.
If any links do not work, if clicked, please copy and paste to browser address bar.
It is very important to remember that the dump reports only give clues as to the problem and although it is very easy to analyze only one or two, usually more are needed. If you experience additional BSOD after installing a current version of the driver in question, be sure to post so that we can use the additional information to assist you in preventing the BSOD's

Your report is complicated by the fact that you have the most extensive list of outdated drivers that I have ever worked on. Normally you would update the drivers from the manufacturers website, but in this case use the device manager.

Ascapi, must be updated from the website

Thanks for the help. I have been busy so it's been a while since I could try out your suggestions.

I am having trouble updating the Asacpi driver. I am not sure it is updated. I am still getting intermittent blue screen errors. I have more logs from my minidump which I hope helps us figure out what the problem is.
