Vista - Black Screen at Boot

When I boot my computer the "Windows Loading" icon is there for a long time, then after it disappears a black screen appears. The black screen is there for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile the computer makes a lot of noise. Then when the 10 minutes have passed the computer stops being very noisily and I get to my login screen. When I type in my password and login it is very slow. Then when I finally get to the desktop it is also very slow and "Explorer" starts freezing randomly and I have to restart it and hope, that the computer will start normally and not have a black screen for 10 minutes.

Sometimes when I boot my computer this problem does not occur, but mostly it does and it's been going on for a very long time.

The computer also crashes about once a day meanwhile I'm playing a 3D videogame.

I've run several virus scans and it has found nothing. This has been going on for a long time. I'm not using "Daemon". The problem is also occouring in safe mode.

Since the problem happens, also, in Safe Mode I would start with the possibility that it may be hardware related.
Memory
Overheating
PSU
Monitor
All fall into this catgory.
If you can load some music and then at the next Black Screen if the music is still playing we will know that the computer is still functioning and that it is possibly graphics or the monitor. These things take dective work but can be corrected.
Download and use speed fan to measure temperture
Try memtest86 for a memory test
Guide to using Memtest86+

But lets not forget what may be right in front of our noses
Make a full and updated antivirus scan
Download and run malwarebytes full scan.

Good luck, buddy.

No need to invest money to update drivers. You need to invest time
How to Find Drivers
search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone - will help you search Google for the name of the driver
