ATT: Americancritic. Thanks for the info. I have folowed the directions and enabled UAC
and downloaded and used windbg.

After viewing the files from the crash dump, and using the command " !analayze - v"
I can read the analysis, but frankly do not know what to do with all this info.

can you point me to some site or page to help me in evaluating this info.

Thanks again.

Re: BSOD. could this web page apply to my problem?

relucant to do this without advice.

cam across this web page that point to 2 MS hotfix.

both looks like they might be pertinent, but do not know enough, whether i should
or should not.

0x0000008e NTKRPAMP.EXE

could both articles might apply?

I looked at these articles:

Hello,

To start out with:
Code:
Event[98]:
  Log Name: System
  Source: volmgr
  Date: 2011-03-28T16:19:57.335
  Event ID: 49
  Task: N/A
  Level: Error
  Opcode: N/A
  Keyword: Classic
  User: N/A
  User Name: N/A
  Computer: arthur-PC
  Description:
Configuring the Page file for crash dump failed. Make sure there is a page file on the boot partition and that is large enough to contain all physical memory.
I see there is 3GB RAM installed, yet the page file is only 500MB. Right-click on My Computer and select Properties; click on "Advanced System Settings". Make sure you're in the Advanced tab, and click on Settings under the Performance heading. In the Advanced tab, click on Change under the Virtual Memory heading. Tick "Automatically manage paging file size". Reboot to complete.

That alone may or may not solve the BSOD problem. If not, carry on!

The dumps seem to indicate a hardware problem, so let's do some diagnostics. Start with the Blend and Small FFTs Prime95 tests: CPU - Stress Test with Prime95 - Windows 7 Forums

Also run SeaTools: SeaTools for Windows | Seagate

The Blend Prime95 test will catch a lot of physical RAM problems, but Memtest86 has its place as well. Run that for at least 7 passes: RAM - Test with Memtest86+ - Windows 7 Forums

Finally, there are a couple of potential driver issues. One is your nForce ethernet controller drivers, which are a little bit out of date:
Code:
nvmfdx32.sys Fri Aug 01 14:37:49 2008 (489357FD)
The other is your nVidia display drivers, which are also a few versions old:
Code:
nvlddmkm.sys Sat Oct 16 13:07:56 2010 (4CB9DBEC)
Install both the GeForce and nForce packages for the system: Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

Let us know how it goes!

Believe the problem is solved. Thanks to those who helped.

Basically after running the memtest and hard stress test (7 hours and small blend test (8), i played with retesting all the drivers. (verifier). this kep crashing every two minutes.
Finally in desperation, since all the problems seemed to be while in networking mode, I
UNINSTALLED THE NETWORK ADAPTER, and restarted.
Windows found new hardware and installed it, but to my amazement what formerly was an ethernet adapter (reltek 10/100mbps ethernet adapter), now was listed as Nvidian nForce Netwworking Controller #2.
I have been surfing now for three hours and the system seems stable.
Any change, I will recontact you. How I had a different netwrok adapter, I do not know, but I think it may have something to do with the old Comcast service that was discontinued when I acquired the PC.

That network adapter name change isn't a huge mystery; it's simply a name change between driver versions. The driver version itself is more relevant than the actual name.

In any case, I'm glad it's working for you now. Let us know if you need anything else!
