Compaq Laptop screen blank

Hi every1

laptop randomly decided to go into "sleep" mode. i had selected sleep,now
My screen stays black on start up. Everything is on, even my volume and wireless


The unplugging/replugging battery trick not works for my laptop


What to do now?:zip:

I have the same issue, although I seem to a bit more savvy. (No offense)

I have found that the issue may be the memory (ram), having taken out both ram slots and testing each in both the slots it looks like I have a broken ram slot. Whenever this slot is used, either on its own or conjunction with the other ram slot I only get a black screen. Having used the one ram in the other slot and the pc boots fine.

Does anyone know whether there is a issue regarding Compaq Vista laptops and (hardware/software) that causes this issue, and a solution to fix it? All I can think of is to get a 2GB ram to counter only having one slot
