Solved BSOD Problem

Hi,

Can anyone help with this BSOD problem. I'm not sure but for some reason I have no sound. It's not muted or turned down, simply is no sound coming out. It shows the device driver is working, and i tried reinstalling it without success. As the BSOD came within a few days of the sound stopping I was wondering if it was connected. Thanks for any help.


Is Vista . . . - x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? x86 - the original installed OS on the system? yes but i have installed windows update and service packs - an OEM or full retail version? OEM - OEM = came pre-installed on system - Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer - What is the age of system (hardware)? since 2009 - What is the age of OS
installation (have you re-installed the OS?) since 2009

You have given me two two reports, each showing a different driver as the cause. Lets start with the most likely, your anti virus
Epfwndis.sys file description
ESET Smart
Replace with Microsoft security essentials. Be sure to go to the website of your anti virus and use the unistall tool.
If you still get BSODs, post and we shall try the other driver. If problems persist, we will go with a memory test, upadate of all the drivers and finally a driver verifier test. Good luck

Tried on different OS. It was a hardware problem with the sound card. I purchased a new external USB sound card and now I have sound again. Thanks for the help :)
