System freezes when not in use

If I leave it on or if I put it to sleep when I return it is just frozen and I have to reboot. I wouldn't mind but I just got a Magic Jack and it goes off if the PC is off.

Welcome
Freezing can be caused by many factors.
Here are my solutions to freezing, and an excellent article, which I hope is of some help
Go to search type device manager and look for any yellow warning markers
Download and run malwarebytes, a full scan after you update
Run antivirus scan
Check memory with memtest86
Make sure that you are not over heating.
Try in safe mode; report back if it works properly.
Try a clean boot
Make sure PSU is working properly
If overclocking, restore to original
Test hard drive at company website.
Test in safe mode, does it still happen?
Try with clean boot..

Did the freezing start with the installation of Magic Jack?

It started when I got a TP-Link router and wireless adapter. I just disconnected it and connected directly to modem. Maybe that is the cause.

Whenever you make a change, and problems happen, always return the computer to the original condition, at least as a test.
Good luck.

Well, it is stil up this morning so I guess my pc doesn't like the wireless route. I wonder why. Maybe it is too old. I bought my pc in 2/2007 from Cyberpower. Maybe I will check with them. Or maybe the router and adapter which are both from TP-Link have too many interruptions.

I am glad that I was able to help solve the problem. I am sorry, but I cannot tell you why that router causes the problem. You may want to check to see if they have a website that may offer some clues or possibly give them a call. I would call the router company, since it is their software that causes the problem
I do wish you good luck.
