Administrator password not recognized

The password I enter is correct, I had it written down & it was not changed. I have 2 other user accounts. I tried to find Built-In Administrator in Safe Mode--no luck. I'm unable to download anything...please HELP!!!

Rich, thanks for your response. I've been to that link before & I guess I'm not that computer savvy to understand some of it. When it advises to logon to another Administrator account, I only have one & two user accounts. Everything I try to do asks me for Administrator permission and I never made a reset disk--I may have to reinstall Vista.

Howling Wolves, thanks for the article. I also did read about the battery removal before & because of my novice computer skills, I'm too afraid of the downside of that. I don't have the confidence to fix whatever I've removed.

And Rich, I'm still working on the built-in administrator. I appreciate the help from both of you!
