It also appears that superfetch has stopped and cant enable.
Any suggestions
Superfetch is a non-essential service add on for intel readyboost, if you do not use readyboost with a USB flash drive then you don't necessarily need that service running, however, the freeze isn't caused by this, that is after the reboot, if you could post what was before that time, that'll be good and possibly fill in the specs for your computer to further assist you.
