Vista Home Basic Crash

I was using AVG 2012 trial version for one month.When I uninstalled AVG after one month, I was unable to connect to the net which was showing an error code 720. After a system recovery I gained network access but now whenever I try to open a folder the system is crashing. Is there anything I could do to save all my data???? The OS is Vista Home Basic 32 bit. Laptop model is Compaq Presario CQ60. Is there any tool in the system or in the net through which I can save all my data. PLEASE HELP !!!!!! I can provide more info if needed.... PLEASE HELP !!!!!! Thanks in advance..

See if you can install Ubuntu. If so save your stuff, post the results and I will try to help to restore Vista

On a more personal note, remove your email address, its against forum policy. A good policy, since its in effect to prevent you from getting Spam until the "cows fly over the moon".
